A larger venue will bring live music, cultural events and more room to gather to South Walton.

SOWAL House is expanding from Rosemary Beach to Miramar Beach, giving its live performances and community events a larger home. Once its outdoor areas are complete, the new venue will span nearly 6,000 square feet. A Grand Room with a professional stage, sound and lighting will host music, performances, screenings and private gatherings. Atlas Club members will have a dedicated upper level overlooking the room.

“Our focus has always been local,” founder Dave King said. “We want to create authentic experiences that feel rooted in this community and made for the people who live here. Miramar Beach gives us the space to do considerably more of that.”

SOWAL House has brought musicians, filmmakers, comedians and Northwest Florida artists together with local audiences through performances, live podcasts and special events. The Miramar Beach venue will make room for larger productions while keeping the close-up feel of the original space. During the day, it will also offer a place for coffee, meetings and remote work.

“We live here, so we think about SOWAL House from a local’s perspective,” King said. “The goal is to create places worth returning to, performances worth talking about and experiences that feel genuinely connected to this community.”

The Rosemary Beach location will continue its programming. For Walton County, the expansion shows how a local idea can grow and give more people a reason to gather. Perhaps one day, that reach will extend north of the bay, too.
