Something delightfully spooky is drifting across Lake DeFuniak this Halloween. HWY 331 is launching the first-ever Boo Paddle, an evening of costumed paddling, community spirit, and old-fashioned Halloween charm.

Participants are invited to don their most haunting—or hilarious—costumes and take to the lake’s mirror-still waters while families line Circle Drive for the city’s cherished Trick-or-Treat Celebration, now in its 21st year and hosted by the DeFuniak Springs Woman’s Club. This new community tradition joins the time-honored Halloween festivities to create an unforgettable evening on one of Florida’s most picturesque natural landmarks.

Circle Drive will close to traffic at 4:30 p.m., so paddlers are encouraged to arrive early to unload gear before the closure. There is no parking allowed on Circle Drive due to the Trick-or-Treating event. Costumes are highly encouraged—ghostly themes take center stage, but creativity is welcome.

Trick-or-Treating on Circle Drive

While adult paddlers haunt the lake, families can enjoy one of DeFuniak Springs’ favorite annual traditions. The Circle Drive Trick-or-Treating Celebration, organized by the DeFuniak Springs Woman’s Club, welcomes nearly 2,000 children each year for a safe, candy-filled evening of fun. Local businesses and organizations will set up along the Circle, bringing decorations, costumes, and plenty of treats to share.

HWY 331 Paddle Club Meets up on Lake DeFuniak every Saturday at 9AM.

Circle Back to Lake DeFuniak Every Saturday

A new community of outdoor enthusiasts—walkers, joggers, cyclists and paddlers—gather weekly to celebrate the natural beauty of Lake DeFuniak and the surrounding Walton County landscape. Every Saturday at 9 a.m., the group meets behind The Chautauqua Hall of Brotherhood. More information can be found at https://hwy331.com/paddle-club/
