Hard Hats & High Heels
A Bold Legacy of Building in Walton County
Habitat for Humanity of Walton County is back with its 8th Annual Hard Hats & High Heels Luncheon, and this year’s event is poised to be bigger, louder, and more meaningful than ever.
On Friday, February 13, 2026, the Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa will host women from across the county who are ready to do more than raise money. They’re ready to build. The luncheon kicks off Habitat’s 2026 Women Build Workshops, a series of build days that prove when women lead, communities gain.
Tickets are on sale now—and with a reputation for selling out, Habitat encourages early purchase. Early Build tickets are $65 through January 23, and regular tickets are $75.
This year’s luncheon carries special weight. It’s sponsored by The Carver Family in loving memory of Barbara “Barb” Carver, a longtime Habitat volunteer who passed away in 2024. Barb didn’t just support Habitat—she lived its mission. Her energy, commitment, and belief in lifting others left a lasting impact on Walton County, and her family is honoring that legacy by ensuring her spirit continues to inspire women through Habitat’s work.
“Barb embodied the heart of Habitat for Humanity,” said Teresa Jones, CEO of Habitat for Humanity of Walton County. “Her dedication to service and belief in lifting others up continues to inspire us. We are deeply grateful to the Carver family for honoring her life and keeping her spirit alive through this event.”
Hard Hats & High Heels is not a typical fundraiser. It’s a statement: women don’t just support the community—they build it. The luncheon will feature a plated lunch, a signature drink, games, raffles, a wine pull, awards, and a keynote address by Catherine Brennan of Whole Life Fitness. Brennan is known for helping women strengthen both physical and mental resilience—an ideal match for the empowerment-focused Women Build program.
All sponsorship opportunities for the 2026 event are fully committed, a reflection of the community’s support for Habitat’s mission and the Women Build program. Women and businesses who still want to get involved can participate in build days and workshops.
Women Build Workshops invite women to gain hands-on construction skills, including power tool training, while directly supporting local families working toward affordable homeownership. Workshop and build dates for Spring 2026 will be announced at the luncheon.
This is the kind of work that doesn’t stay behind the scenes. It shows up in the homes families move into, the communities that grow stronger, and the women who step up and lead.
