Two years ago today, Hwy 331 launched with a simple idea: to create a space where the stories of Walton County could be told with intention—connecting the north and south side in one shared community. It began as a digital hub, a place to celebrate milestones, support local businesses, and spotlight the people and places that make this corner of Florida unique. What started online quickly grew into something larger: a living reflection of Walton County’s creativity, resilience, and spirit.

Behind every milestone are the supporters: the businesses who invest in the region, the artists and musicians who give it color, the farmers and shopkeepers who provide its daily rhythm, and the neighbors whose stories breathe life into the platform. Together, we’ve created something rare—a community-driven media voice that belongs to Walton County.

Now, Hwy 331 is circling back in the most literal sense. To celebrate its second anniversary, it’s stepping off the screen and into the community with the launch of the Hwy 331 Paddle Club—kicking off Saturday, September 13th at 9 AM on Lake DeFuniak. This new in-person gathering is designed to mirror the spirit of the online community: intentional, connected, and rooted in the place we call home. And while paddlers will take to the water, everyone is welcome—walkers, joggers, bikers, and even four-legged friends. You don’t have to paddle to be a part of this club; the real current is community. Best of all, we’ll circle back to Lake DeFuniak every Saturday to keep the momentum going.

Each meetup is a chance to build friendships, explore our natural resources, and carry forward the same sense of belonging that we have cultivated online.

In just two years, Hwy 331 has become a trusted reflection of Walton County. With the Paddle Club, it takes the next step: turning stories into new experiences, and neighbors into companions. It’s about circling back to connecting what matters most.
