Fireworks in DeFuniak Springs

There are a thousand reasons someone might miss the fireworks on the Fourth of July.

Maybe your dog is terrified of the noise, and home is the only place they feel safe. Maybe walking across a crowded park isn’t as easy as it used to be. Maybe you’re recovering from surgery. Caring for a loved one. Working a late shift. Or maybe this year, staying home simply feels like the right choice.

Whatever the reason, you shouldn’t have to miss one of Walton County’s favorite traditions.
That’s why, for the second year, HWY 331 will livestream the July 4 fireworks over Lake DeFuniak.
It’s a simple idea. Bring the celebration to the people who can’t be there. Because community is nurtured when sharing the same moment, even from different places.

When the first fireworks rise above Lake DeFuniak, we’ll be there. If you’re watching from your living room, your back porch, a hospital room, or beside a nervous four-legged friend curled up at your feet, you’ll still see the colors reflected across the water in real time.

Maybe you’ll turn the sound all the way up. Maybe you’ll mute it completely.

Either way, you’ll know that neighbors are looking up at the very same sky. It’s a small reminder that the traditions we love are meant to be shared.

Join us on July 4. We’ll go live on the HWY 331 Facebook page around 9 p.m., as soon as the fireworks begin.

Happy Fourth, Walton County!
