The DeFuniak Springs Woman’s Club is proud to announce the 21st Annual Circle Drive Halloween Celebration, a cherished community tradition that brings joy, safety, and festive spirit to families throughout Walton County. Each year, approximately 2,000 children gather at the historic Lake Yard to trick-or-treat in a welcoming and secure environment—and 2025 promises to be no different.
The event will take place on Thursday, October 31, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. along Circle Drive. In order to prepare, Circle Drive will close to all vehicles at 4:30 p.m. Organizers ask that participants arrive early if they need to drop off supplies before the closure.
“This celebration has become a true highlight for our community,” said Carol Doxey, event co-chair. “Not only does it give children a safe place to enjoy Halloween, but it also allows local businesses and organizations to connect with families in a fun and meaningful way.”
How to Participate
Local businesses, organizations, and community groups are invited to host tables along Circle Drive:
- Bring your own table and chairs to set up in front of your assigned house (away from porches, near the sidewalk).
- Festive decorations, costumes, and signage to promote your business are encouraged.
- Each group is asked to provide at least 2,000 individually wrapped candies (one piece per child is recommended).
- Battery-powered lights and extra volunteers are strongly suggested to keep the experience bright and engaging.
Assigned house locations will be distributed in mid-October, with participating homes marked by orange pumpkin signs and corresponding numbers. At the close of the event, participants are kindly asked to remove all supplies and collect any trash to keep Circle Drive clean and beautiful.
Other Ways to Support
For those who cannot host a table, donations of individually wrapped candy or monetary contributions are always welcome to help sustain this beloved tradition.
“This is truly a community effort,” added Carolynn Zonia, event co-chair. “Every piece of candy, every decorated table, and every smile from our volunteers helps make Circle Drive Halloween unforgettable for our children.”
